Creating spaces for artists and people with lived experience of homelessness to collaborate on stories
In Fall 2021, our cohort of artists and participants with lived experience of homelessness have been meeting twice weekly to explore their stories through theatre, poetry, painting and drawing. We’re thrilled about the ensemble we’re building and the work we’re creating.
We ran two sessions between September and November, both of which resulted in a casual sharing of work with community members that included audio storytelling with images, a participatory movement piece, and a scene exploring what setting up a camp looks like.
Many thanks to our partners: The Music Hall for offering us space, The Burnt Tongue and 541 Cafe and Eatery for their generous donations of food, and our other supportive community members for providing delicious snacks.
